Pete & Bas

Pete & Bas are a British rap duo from South East London — Pete from Peckham and Bas from Croydon — who broke through in January 2018 with the viral single «Shut Ya Mouth». Their unusual public image, built around older-generation gangster mystique paired with internet-native humor, quickly separated them from typical UK drill and grime acts and helped their freestyles spread widely online.

Stylistically the pair lean into gruff, deadpan delivery over stripped-back beats, often leaning as much on comedic shock value and internet meme culture as on traditional rap technicality. Pete, known online as «Peter Bandwidth» or «Internet P», has become something of a cult figure, while Bas has kept a deliberately low public profile.

The duo have earned co-signs and features from major UK rap and grime names including Dizzee Rascal, Giggs, D Double E, Headie One, Dave, Jaykae, and MIST, and they are associated with The Snooker Team collective, with whom they released «Windowframe Cypher». Collaborations like «The Old Estate» with M24 further cemented their standing within the UK scene despite their unconventional path to recognition.
