Pashanim

Pashanim, born Can David Bayram, is a German rapper from Berlin-Kreuzberg with Turkish-Kurdish roots. His stage name derives from the Turkish word «paşa» — an honorific military title akin to general — combined with the possessive suffix, roughly translating to «my general.» He began writing rap in the early 2010s and became more publicly active from around 2016 onward, developing a laid-back, melodic style heavily shaped by French and American trap music.

His breakthrough came with the 2019 single «Shababs botten», which brought him widespread recognition in the German rap scene for its hazy, minimalist beat and cool, conversational delivery. He followed it with «Airwaves» in 2020, widely considered the most successful and defining track of his career, cementing his reputation as one of the key voices of a new, internationally influenced wave of German-language rap that draws as much from Paris and Atlanta as from Berlin.

Pashanim is also known as a member of the artist collective Playboys Mafia, alongside Symba, RB and AbuGlitsch, through which he has released collaborative material and built a distinct scene around his sound. His music is characterized by understated, atmospheric production, code-switching between German, Turkish and French phrases, and an air of effortless cool that has influenced a younger generation of German rappers.
