Паша Техник (Pasha Technique)

Pasha Technique, born Pavel Nikolayevich Ivlev (1 July 1984 — 4 April 2025), was a Moscow rapper, beatmaker and one of the most notorious, provocative figures of Russian internet culture. He came up through the underground battle-rap scene of the 2000s, co-founding the group Kunteynir and gaining early notoriety for a viral video known as «tema yashchik» («the box thing»). His career was interrupted by a drug-trafficking arrest in 2008, which kept him imprisoned until 2013.

After his release, Pasha Technique reinvented himself as a fixture of Russian YouTube culture, appearing on battle rap platforms like Versus Battle, releasing the album Statistika gusya, and becoming a recurring guest on major online shows exploring his chaotic, unfiltered lifestyle. In 2018 he launched his own show, «V poiskakh lyogkikh deneg», with Medium Quality. His public persona blended dark humor, brutal honesty about addiction, and a shock-driven charisma that made him a uniquely divisive and closely watched figure.

His life was repeatedly marked by cycles of addiction, arrest and rehabilitation, including periods at a rehab clinic and another prison stint in the early 2020s for drunk driving. Songs such as «Nuzhen Xanax», «Demony» and «Zaebis» reflect his raw, confessional style and his standing as an underground pioneer turned internet-era antihero. He died in a hospital in Thailand in April 2025.
