Odd Future

Odd Future, fully styled Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All and often abbreviated OFWGKTA, is an American hip-hop collective formed in Los Angeles in the mid-2000s. Its founding members included Tyler, The Creator, Hodgy, Left Brain, Casey Veggies and Jasper Dolphin, with later members such as Earl Sweatshirt, Frank Ocean, Domo Genesis, Mike G and Syd joining the extended crew. The group built its reputation through raw, self-produced mixtapes distributed online and a fiercely DIY aesthetic that combined dark, abrasive lyrical content with a strong sense of humor and shock value.

Rather than functioning as a conventional group, Odd Future operated as a loose collective and creative platform from which several members launched major solo careers, most notably Tyler, The Creator and Frank Ocean, whose later work moved into more melodic and experimental territory far from the collective's early horrorcore-tinged rap. Tracks like «Oldie», «Rella» and «Orange Juice» reflect the group's chaotic, multi-voice energy and its blend of rap, R&B and left-field electronic production.

Beyond music, Odd Future expanded into other media, including the Adult Swim sketch-comedy series «Loiter Squad», and since 2012 has hosted the annual Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles. The collective's DIY, internet-driven rise and irreverent style made it one of the most influential youth culture movements to emerge from hip-hop in the early 2010s.
