Noname, born Fatimah Warner, is an American rapper and poet from Bronzeville, a historic neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. She emerged from the city's vibrant spoken-word scene, placing highly in the Louder Than a Bomb youth poetry competition before turning to rap. Her breakthrough came via a guest verse on Chance the Rapper's «Lost» from his mixtape Acid Rap, which introduced her to a wider audience and connected her to the broader Chicago hip-hop collective that included Mick Jenkin and the Social Experiment.

Her sound blends jazzy, understated production with intimate, literary lyricism, favoring conversational flow over aggressive delivery. Themes of memory, faith, sexuality, and Black womanhood run through her catalog, delivered with a poet's precision. Songs like «Diddy Bop» and «Yesterday» showcase her warm, nostalgic storytelling style, while «Song 33» revealed a sharper, more confrontational side.
