NoCap, born Kobe Vidal Crawford in 1998, is an American rapper and singer from Mobile, Alabama. He began releasing music in 2017, gaining attention with early tracks like «Let It Go» and «Legend», which drew the notice of established rappers Lil Baby and YoungBoy Never Broke Again and led to a joint-venture deal with Never Broke Again and Atlantic Records in 2019.

His style blends melodic, emotionally direct rap with R&B-influenced singing, often centered on themes of grief, incarceration, street life and personal struggle delivered in a raw, autotune-inflected voice. Mixtapes such as The Backend Child and The Hood Dictionary — featuring tracks like «Ghetto Angels» and «Blind Nights» — built his reputation, while Steel Human became his highest-charting project at the time, featuring guest appearances from DaBaby, Jacquees and Lil Uzi Vert.

In 2022 he released his debut studio album Mr. Crawford, which reached the top ten of the Billboard 200, marking a significant commercial milestone. NoCap is recognized for a distinctly vulnerable, melodic approach within Southern hip-hop, standing apart from more aggressive trap conventions through his introspective songwriting and singing-forward delivery.
