Nettspend

Nettspend, born Gunner Shepardson on March 18, 2007, is an American rapper, songwriter and model from Richmond, Virginia, who emerged from the SoundCloud and underground rap scenes as a teenager. He began releasing music as early as 2017 under the name 6unnex, mostly appearing on tracks with friends, before taking music more seriously in late 2022 and releasing his debut track, «#nemk».

By the end of 2022 he had rebranded as Nettspend, a name he has said derives loosely from associating «net» with the internet and the prepaid card brand Netspend. With support from childhood friend and fellow Richmond artist zuro, he connected with New York rapper xaviersobased and became linked to the 1c34 collective, which helped raise his profile within the underground scene.

His breakout debut mixtape, KiCKDOOR, released May 28, 2023, featured artists like Yungster Jack, phreshboyswag and kasper gem, followed shortly by a deluxe edition. Songs such as «Nothing like uuu», «F*CK SWAG» and «trap house 2016» showcase his chaotic, lo-fi, internet-native sound that blends rage, hyperpop and rap elements, resonating strongly with a young, terminally-online fanbase.
