Natanael Cano

Natanael Cano is a Mexican singer, songwriter and guitarist from Hermosillo, Sonora, widely credited as one of the founding figures of corridos tumbados, a genre that fuses the traditional Mexican regional corrido with trap and hip-hop aesthetics. Working closely with songwriter Dan Sánchez, Cano helped shape a sound built on acoustic and requinto guitar patterns layered over trap-style beats and cadences, lyrics that touch on street life and bravado in a style reminiscent of narcocorridos, alongside more personal and romantic themes.

He began releasing music as a teenager in the late 2010s, with early viral singles helping him build a following before he broke through more broadly, eventually working alongside major figures in the Latin urban and regional Mexican scenes. His catalog includes tracks such as «Amor Tumbado» and «Soy el Diablo», which capture the blend of youthful defiance and traditional instrumentation that defines his style.

Cano's rise helped push corridos tumbados into the mainstream of Latin music, influencing a wave of younger artists who followed his template of merging regional Mexican roots with contemporary urban production.
