Naps

Naps, born Nabil Arlabalek in Marseille, is a French rapper who became one of the defining voices of the Marseille rap scene in the 2010s. He began his career as a member of the collective Click 11.43 before launching a prolific solo career marked by frequent, high-volume album releases and a distinctive, melodic delivery over trap-influenced, R&B-tinged production. His sound blends the raw energy of French street rap with hooky, almost pop-adjacent melodies, a combination that helped bring Marseille's regional scene to national prominence. Albums such as Ma ville & ma vie, Pochon bleu, À l'instinct, and On est fait pour ça built his reputation as a consistent hitmaker, with tracks like «La kiffance», «Favela», and «Elvira» becoming widely recognized singles that crossed over into mainstream popularity beyond core rap audiences. Naps founded his own label, 13ème Art, through which he has released much of his catalog, and has collaborated with major names in French rap including Ninho, Maes, SCH, Soolking, and Vald, notably on the compilation Carré VIP. His steady output and commercial consistency have made him one of the most streamed and commercially successful rappers to emerge from southern France in recent years.
