Moneybagg Yo, born Demario White Jr. on September 22, 1991, in Memphis, Tennessee, is a rapper closely associated with the city's hard-edged, melodic trap sound. He rose through Memphis' independent mixtape scene before signing with Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group (CMG), in partnership with N-Less Entertainment and Interscope Records, which gave his career national reach.

His breakout period came with 2018's Bet On Me, followed by projects like RESET and 43VA HEARTLESS that built his reputation for rapid-fire delivery, dark bass-heavy production, and unflinching lyrics about street life, loyalty, and hustle. In 2020 he released his third studio album, Time Served, expanded with a deluxe edition that broadened his commercial profile.

Moneybagg Yo reached a new commercial peak in 2021 with A Gangsta's Pain, his first album to top the Billboard 200, powered by hit singles "Wockesha" and "Time Today." Known for prolific output and frequent collaborations across the Memphis and broader Southern rap scene, he has become one of the defining voices of contemporary trap music, balancing radio-friendly hooks with the gritty storytelling that built his early following.
