Mobb Deep

Mobb Deep were an American hip-hop duo from the Queensbridge Houses in Queens, New York, consisting of Havoc and the late Prodigy. Emerging in the early-to-mid 1990s, they became defining figures of hardcore East Coast rap, known for bleak, cinematic depictions of street life delivered over Havoc's minimal, menacing production.

Their 1995 album The Infamous, anchored by the single «Shook Ones, Pt. II», is considered a cornerstone of 1990s New York hip-hop, praised for Prodigy's sharp, unflinching lyricism and the duo's stark sonic atmosphere. Follow-ups Hell on Earth and Murda Muzik extended their run of gold and platinum success and cemented their reputation as one of the genre's most respected acts, with their sound influencing rap scenes well beyond New York, including in France.

Beyond their work as a duo, both members pursued solo projects and notable collaborative albums, including work with producer The Alchemist. Prodigy passed away in June 2017, but the group's legacy continued through archival releases, including Infinite in 2025, which paired previously unreleased Prodigy verses with new Havoc and Alchemist production, released via Nas's Mass Appeal label.
