Mick Jenkins is an American rapper born April 16, 1991, in Huntsville, Alabama, and raised on the South Side of Chicago, where he built his reputation as part of the city's fertile 2010s hip-hop scene. He first drew attention through a string of self-released mixtapes — «The Mickstape», «The Pursuit of HappyNess: The Story of Mickalascage», and «Trees & Truths» — before breaking through locally and nationally with «The Water[s]» in 2014, anchored by the widely praised single «Martyrs».
