MezzoSangue

MezzoSangue is the stage name of Luca Ferrazzi, an Italian rapper and producer from Rome, born in 1991. He emerged in the early 2010s Italian underground rap scene, gaining wider attention in 2012 with «Capitan Presente», a track that also introduced his signature image: performing masked in a balaclava, which he explained as a way of removing the individual so anyone with a reason to sing along could identify with the words.

His music blends introspective, philosophically-tinged lyricism with a raw, DIY approach to production, often addressing themes of nihilism, identity, and self-realization rather than typical trap braggadocio. Songs like «Nichilismo» and «Diventa quello che sei» (echoing Nietzsche's «become what you are») reflect this reflective, almost literary streak within Italian rap.

Over the years MezzoSangue has built a cult following for combining rap with atmospheric, sometimes downtempo or electronic-tinged production, moving fluidly between hard-hitting rap cuts and more melodic, pop-adjacent material such as «Parlami» and «Armonia & Caos». His anonymity-driven persona and uncompromising lyrical style have made him one of the more distinctive and enduring figures of the Roman rap underground.
