Method Man

Method Man, born Clifford Smith on March 2, 1971, is an American rapper and actor from Staten Island, New York, best known as one of the nine founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan. He first drew attention on the group's 1993 debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), where his solo showcase track carried his name, and he became the first Clan member to release a solo album with Tical in 1994. His gruff, charismatic delivery and easy chemistry with collaborators made him one of the most recognizable voices to emerge from the Wu-Tang camp.

Beyond his solo catalog, Method Man built one of hip-hop's most enduring partnerships with Redman, releasing the joint albums «Blackout!» and «Blackout! 2», and starring together in the film «How High» and the short-lived sitcom «Method & Red». His 1995 duet with Mary J. Blige, «I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By», won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

Method Man also carved out a substantial acting career, appearing in projects such as «The Wire», «Belly», «Luke Cage», and «The Deuce», while continuing to record with Wu-Tang Clan and as a solo artist across decades.
