MERO

MERO, born Enes Meral on July 28, 2000, in Rüsselsheim am Main, Germany, is a German-language rapper of Turkish descent. He rose to fame rapidly through short videos of himself rapping, which he posted to Instagram, quickly building a devoted following before releasing any official music.

His debut single «Baller los», released in November 2018, went straight to number one on the German charts, an unprecedented feat for a debut single by a rap artist. Follow-up single «Hobby Hobby» repeated the achievement, and his debut album YA HERO YA MERO, released in March 2019, also topped the German charts. His sound is distinguished by melodic, slightly oriental-tinged sung hooks paired with precise, rapid-fire double-time rap verses.

MERO continued his commercial success with the album UNIKAT later in 2019, further cementing his position as one of the most successful new voices in German rap, known for fusing catchy sung hooks with technical rapping ability.
