Massimo Pericolo

Massimo Pericolo, stage name of Alessandro Vanetti, is an Italian rapper from Gallarate whose raw, confessional style made him one of the standout voices of Italian rap in the late 2010s. He grew up between several towns in northern Italy and Sicily, discovering rap as a teenager through Eminem’s film 8 Mile, which pushed him to write his first freestyle verses with friends.

Before adopting his current name, he performed under earlier aliases, including Shinobi and Skinny Bitch, cutting his teeth on local open-mic scenes and small collaborative projects in the Varese area. His breakthrough came with a grittier, street-level narrative style rooted in personal hardship, including time spent in the justice system, which lent his lyrics an unusually direct and unfiltered authenticity compared to more polished mainstream rap.

Massimo Pericolo built his reputation on tracks like «7 miliardi» and «Sabbie d’oro», mixing dark humor, social commentary and vivid autobiographical storytelling over stripped-down trap-influenced beats. His work is often noted for bridging underground rap sensibilities with wider popular appeal, helping shift Italian rap toward more personal and socially aware songwriting.
