Marwan Pablo is an Egyptian rapper, singer, songwriter and producer from Alexandria, often credited as a pioneering force behind Egypt's trap music movement. He initially recorded under the name Dama before stepping away and re-emerging in late 2017 as Marwan Pablo, a name inspired by both Pablo Escobar and Pablo Picasso. That reintroduction, marked by the single «El Gholaf X Ozoris», signaled a sharper, more atmospheric sound built around dark, minimal trap production.

He writes his own lyrics and has increasingly taken on production duties himself, giving his catalogue a distinct sonic identity across tracks like «Free», «Ghaba», «El Gemeza» and «Sindbad». His music helped push Egyptian trap out of the underground and into the mainstream, influencing a generation of younger MENA rappers who followed his template of moody beats and confessional, sometimes cryptic verses.
