Marwan Moussa - مروان موسى

Marwan Moussa is an Egyptian rapper, producer and actor from Cairo who emerged as one of the defining voices of the country's new-generation hip-hop scene. Before turning to music he studied film in Italy and later sound engineering in Los Angeles, an unusual path that shaped his meticulous approach to production. He began releasing music around 2016, quickly distinguishing himself by fusing trap and hip-hop with mahraganat, Egypt's homegrown electronic street-music genre, resulting in a sound that feels both global and unmistakably local.

His 2019 album Propaganda established him as a leading figure in Egyptian rap, and singles like «El Bosla Da3et» and «Sheraton» became widely shared hits across the Arabic-speaking world. His lyrics often tackle social pressure, ambition and personal doubt with a blend of humor and sharp observation, avoiding the flashier tropes of mainstream trap.

Moussa has also built a reputation through collaboration, notably contributing to Coke Studio's pan-regional remix of «Pasoori» alongside Ali Sethi and Reekado Banks, and organizing «Rajieen», a 2023 charity single uniting artists from across the MENA region. Alongside music he has pursued acting, extending his presence beyond the recording booth into Egyptian screen culture.
