LMFAO

LMFAO were an American electronic dance duo formed in 2006 in Los Angeles by Redfoo and Sky Blu — an uncle-nephew pair connected to the Gordy family of Motown Records. Emerging from the electro house scene, they built a following through energetic live shows and party-driven singles before breaking through internationally.

Their sound combined electro house production with playful, hedonistic party lyrics, often built around catchy hooks and dance-craze appeal. A feature on David Guetta's «Gettin' Over You» in 2010 raised their international profile, and their biggest hit, «Party Rock Anthem», topped charts across the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and much of Europe, becoming one of the best-selling digital singles of 2011. Other well-known tracks include «Sexy and I Know It» and «Sorry for Party Rocking».

LMFAO's music and stage persona leaned heavily into flamboyant fashion and comic showmanship, positioning them as one of the defining party-pop acts of the early 2010s EDM-pop crossover moment. The duo went on hiatus in the following years after reaching the peak of their mainstream success.
