Little Simz

Little Simz, born Simbiatu Ajikawo, is a British rapper, singer and actress from Islington, North London, of Nigerian heritage. She began releasing mixtapes as a teenager before her independent label Age 101 issued her debut album A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons in 2015, followed by Stillness in Wonderland the next year. Her profile grew steadily through GREY Area (2019) and reached new heights with Sometimes I Might Be Introvert (2021), a widely acclaimed record produced largely with longtime collaborator Inflo.

Her sound blends dense, technically assured rapping with live instrumentation, soul and jazz textures, and orchestral flourishes, setting her apart from more beat-driven UK rap. Introspective songwriting about identity, mental health and industry pressure runs through tracks like «Introvert» and «Woman», the latter featuring Cleo Sol. She has also pursued acting, including a role in the series Top Boy.

Beyond music, Little Simz has built a reputation as one of the most respected lyricists in British rap, earning Mercury Prize and Brit Award recognition and collaborating with artists across genres while remaining fiercely independent through her own label.
