Lil Yachty

Lil Yachty, born Miles Parks McCollum on August 23, 1997, in Mableton, Georgia, is an Atlanta rapper and singer known for candy-colored hair, playful melodies and a voice drenched in Auto-Tune. He broke through in 2016 when «1Night» went viral after appearing in a comedy sketch, propelling his Summer Songs EP and the Lil Boat mixtape into the spotlight. That project introduced his split artistic persona: bubbly, hook-driven Lil Yachty versus the more technical rapper Lil Boat.

Aligned early with Quality Control, the management team behind Migos, Yachty built his sound on Atlanta’s trap foundation while pushing it toward brighter, almost bubblegum textures that helped define the SoundCloud-rap era of the mid-2010s. Tracks like «Peek a Boo», «Minnesota» and its star-studded remix with Young Thug, Quavo and Skippa Da Flippa, and «One Night» cemented his reputation for infectious, low-stakes anthems built for viral moments.
