Lil Ugly Mane

Lil Ugly Mane, real name Travis Miller, is a prolific and genre-restless artist from Richmond, Virginia, who moved into rap after earlier work in noise and black metal. Under the Lil Ugly Mane name he built a reputation for dense, murky production and a menacing, technically sharp rapping style, drawing on horrorcore and Southern rap influences on tracks like «BITCH I'M LUGUBRIOUS» and «SLICK RICK».

Miller is known for working under multiple aliases beyond Lil Ugly Mane, including Shawn Kemp for his production work and bedwetter for more personal, introspective material. He was also part of the now-disbanded group Secret Circle alongside Wiki and Antwon. Around 2015 he announced Lil Ugly Mane as a defunct project, though he continued releasing music under his other names.

He returned to the Lil Ugly Mane moniker in 2021 with the full-length album VOLCANIC BIRD ENEMY AND THE VOICED CONCERN, a striking stylistic departure built around dream-pop and trip-hop textures rather than his earlier rap sound. Across his career, Miller has remained defined by constant reinvention, releasing music independently through Bandcamp and resisting easy categorization within any single genre.
