Lil Tracy

Lil Tracy, born Jazz Ishmael Butler on October 3, 1995, in Teaneck, New Jersey, is a rapper who grew up largely in Virginia Beach, Virginia, after his parents split when he was eight. He comes from a musical family, and he began making music as a teenager before relocating to Los Angeles at eighteen to pursue his career full-time, adopting the Lil Tracy name after producer Nedarb gave him a Tracy McGrady jersey.

Tracy became a central figure in the emo-rap and cloud-rap scenes as a member of the collectives GOTHBOICLIQUE and THRAXXHOUSE, blending melodic, emotionally raw songwriting with rock and emo influences over hazy, atmospheric production. He is perhaps best known for his close friendship and extensive collaborations with Lil Peep, with whom he worked on numerous tracks and two joint projects before Peep's death in November 2017.

Beyond his work with Peep, Tracy has built a solo catalog spanning songs like «Like a Farmer» and «Pictures», and released his long-awaited debut studio album, Anarchy, in September 2019. In recent years he has continued exploring new collaborative ventures, including the creative collective vampboiclique, formed with Drippin So Pretty.
