KR$NA

KR$NA, born Krishna Kaul, is a rapper and songwriter from New Delhi, India, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the modern Indian hip-hop scene. He started out in the mid-2000s under the stage name Prozpekt, self-releasing tracks online, and built a following through relentless output and technical lyricism long before Indian hip-hop had a commercial infrastructure.

His breakthrough came with the video «Kaisa Mera Desh», which shot to the top of YouTube India's charts and established him as a rapper capable of crossing from underground battle-rap circles into wider recognition. After signing with Universal Music Group he adopted the name KR$NA, and has since become known for dense, multisyllabic wordplay and a combative, punchline-heavy style that he has sharpened over a long series of diss tracks and battle records.

Over the years KR$NA has released a steady stream of singles and albums that combine social commentary with sharp technical rap, tracks like «Machayenge», «No Cap», and «Vyanjan» reflecting both his lyrical ambition and his role as an elder statesman guiding the newer generation of Indian rappers.
