About the artist
Kore, born Djamel Fezari, is a French-Algerian beatmaker and producer regarded as one of the pivotal architects of modern French rap's sound. He began working in the industry in the late 1990s and rose to prominence in the 2000s, first through his production duo with fellow beatmaker Skalpovich, whose mixtapes and productions became central to a whole generation of French urban music.
Through that partnership, Kore worked with artists across the French rap and R&B landscape, contributing to projects for figures such as Rohff and Booba, and to compilations in the influential Raï'N'B Fever series that helped popularize the fusion of raï and R&B sounds in France. He was also involved in the soundtrack work for the film Taxi 3, alongside Skalpovich, and collaborated with artists including Willy Denzey, M. Pokora and Leslie through the Bozdaya management structure.
Over more than two decades, Kore has remained a recognizable presence in French rap production, valued for beats that helped shape the genre's commercial sound in the 2000s while continuing to influence artists who came up in his wake. His name remains closely tied to the history of French rap's crossover into the mainstream.
