Kollegah, born Felix Blume on August 3, 1984, is a German rapper widely regarded within the German hip-hop scene as a technical master of double-time flow and intricate wordplay. Emerging from internet rap forums in the mid-2000s, he built his early identity around gritty, cinematic «pimp tapes» that constructed an elaborate gangster-boss persona, before expanding into more polished studio albums that incorporated melodic and Auto-Tune elements, most notably on Bossaura.
He is closely associated with punchline-heavy battle rap and diss tracks, particularly through his long-running collaborative JBG (Jung, Brutal, Gutaussehend) series with Farid Bang, which became one of the most commercially successful and controversial franchises in German rap. Kollegah is also known for elaborate stage names and personas developed over his career, reflecting his roots in forum battle culture.
Despite his technical standing among fans and peers, Kollegah became a broader public figure in Germany largely due to a major antisemitism controversy surrounding lyrical content, which significantly shaped his reception outside dedicated rap audiences.
