Kojo Funds

Kojo Funds, born Errol Kojo Bellot on March 30, 1995, is a British artist from Newham in east London who became one of the defining voices of the afroswing (afrobashment) sound that emerged in the UK during the mid-2010s. Of Ghanaian and Dominican heritage, he blends dancehall, Afrobeats, UK rap and R&B into an energetic, melodic style that helped popularize the genre alongside artists such as J Hus, with whom he was long associated in a well-known rivalry rooted in their neighboring east London boroughs.

He first gained wider attention with collaborative singles before breaking through as a solo artist with tracks like «My 9ine», «Dun Talkin», «Warning» and «Check», which showcased his knack for catchy hooks and Caribbean-influenced rhythms. His sound draws heavily on dancehall patois and Afrobeat percussion, giving his music a distinctly London-meets-diaspora feel that resonated with UK urban audiences and helped push afroswing into the mainstream.

Beyond his solo work, Kojo Funds has collaborated widely across UK music, working with acts spanning grime, R&B and Afrobeats. He remains a recognizable figure in British urban music, credited as one of the artists who helped define and popularize afroswing as a genre in its own right.
