About the artist
Knxwledge, born Glen Earl Boothe, is an American beatmaker and producer raised between Freehold Township, New Jersey and Philadelphia, later based in Los Angeles. He emerged from the same lo-fi, sample-driven beat scene associated with the Stones Throw label roster, releasing a prolific stream of short, loop-based instrumentals that helped define the modern boom-bap-meets-hip-hop-instrumental sound of the 2010s.
His catalog is enormous and largely self-released, built around his numbered «Klutch» EP series and countless one-off beat tapes, characterized by dusty samples, chopped soul and jazz loops, and hazy, unpolished mixing that became a signature aesthetic for the genre. Tracks like «Sameolemeek» and «Dont Be Afraid» reflect this minimalist, mood-driven approach.
Knxwledge is best known outside his solo work as one half of NxWorries, his acclaimed duo with singer Anderson .Paak, whose album «Yes Lawd!» brought his production to a much wider audience and remains a landmark of neo-soul-infused hip-hop. He has also collaborated as SIRKNX alongside Sir Froderick, further cementing his reputation as a prolific and influential figure in underground beat culture.
