Klovner I Kamp

Klovner i Kamp (often abbreviated KiK) are a Norwegian hip hop group from Tåsen, Oslo, formed in 1994 as a duo of Aslak Hartberg (Allis) and Sveinung Eide (Dr. S). Esben Selvig (Dansken) joined soon after, and when Dr. S left before the debut album, Thomas Gullestad (Fingern/DJ Goldfinger) came in around 2000, settling the group's classic line-up. Rapping in Norwegian with a playful, self-deprecating tone, they helped popularize Norwegian-language hip hop in the late 1990s and 2000s.

In 1999 they co-founded the label City Connections together with Oslo Fluid, Larry Bringsjord and Jakob Kielland, releasing the EP «Bare meg» with the tracks «Bare meg», «Det var saker» and «Go' saker». Their first full album, «Schwin», followed the next year. Songs such as «Nattens sønner», «Langt Å Gå», «Valsen» and «Kaninkoker» became staples of their catalogue, showing a range from party anthems to more reflective storytelling.

Klovner i Kamp became one of the best-selling Norwegian rap acts, with the album «Bjølsen hospital» alone selling over 30,000 copies, and they picked up several awards for Norwegian-language music. The group played a farewell concert at Rockefeller in Oslo on September 1, 2006, and reunited for a show at the Roskilde Festival in 2009. Several former members later continued making music together in the band Yoga Fire.
