Killer Mike

Killer Mike, born Michael Santiago Render, is an American rapper from Atlanta, Georgia, who first gained wider recognition through his association with OutKast, appearing on their 2000 album Stankonia and on the Grammy-winning single «The Whole World» from Big Boi and Dre Present… OutKast. He went on to build a solo career defined by politically charged, socially conscious lyricism rooted in Southern hip hop.

His solo work, including the acclaimed album R.A.P. Music and tracks like «Reagan», «Big Beast» and «Untitled», established him as one of rap's sharpest voices on race, class, and American politics, often paired with hard-hitting Southern production. He has also appeared in films such as ATL and Idlewild.

Killer Mike is widely known as one half of Run the Jewels, his acclaimed duo with producer-rapper El-P, which further cemented his reputation for combining aggressive, technically skilled rapping with pointed political commentary. Across both his solo output and his work with Run the Jewels, he has become one of the most respected and outspoken figures in contemporary hip hop.
