Keny Arkana

Keny Arkana is a French rapper born in the Paris region who grew up in Marseille, a city whose multicultural working-class neighborhoods deeply shaped her music and politics. Of Argentine descent, she emerged in the early 2000s as one of the most distinctive voices in French rap, known for a dense, rapid-fire flow and lyrics steeped in social critique.

Her work is inseparable from her activism: she is closely associated with the altermondialiste (alter-globalization) movement and has been part of the collective La Rage du Peuple, formed in Marseille's Noailles neighborhood. Songs like «La Rage», «J'ai osé» and «Gens pressés» reflect a politically charged, anti-capitalist perspective, addressing themes of injustice, resistance and urban life with an urgency that sets her apart from more commercially oriented French hip-hop.
