Kempachii

Kempachii was an American rapper from San Antonio, Texas, who became one of the defining names of the SoundCloud and TikTok-era hyperpop-adjacent rap scene in the early 2020s. He built his sound around lo-fi, emotionally raw production, pitched vocal melodies and confessional lyrics about heartbreak and online relationships, a style closely tied to the broader wave of bedroom-produced internet rap popularized by artists in his orbit.

He rose to viral fame with «Met Her on the Internet» and its slowed-down companion version «The Internet is Where We Met», tracks that captured a distinctly online, Gen-Z romantic sensibility and spread rapidly through TikTok, Roblox and other platforms, eventually soundtracking tens of thousands of user-made videos. «Oh Yuh» further cemented his presence in this scene alongside songs like «Sneako», «Neverland» and «Fashion Nova».

Kempachii died in 2024, with his passing only publicly confirmed months later; his mother stated he was found deceased on June 1, 2024. His music remains an emblematic snapshot of the mid-2020s TikTok rap wave, prized for its intimate, diary-like songwriting and melodic hooks.
