Kamelancien

Kamelancien, born Kamel Jdayni Houari, is a French rapper of Moroccan origin who grew up in the Val-de-Marne suburbs south of Paris, around the Kremlin-Bicêtre area. He began rapping in the early 1990s with the collective Sang Neuf before crossing paths with Rohff in the early 2000s, with whom he formed the duo T'1kiet, releasing joint tracks before the pair split over musical differences.

He then pursued a solo career marked by a widely followed feud with fellow rapper La Fouine around 2005, trading diss tracks that raised his profile within the French rap scene. He also put out mixtapes recapping his career before releasing a full studio album, Le charme en personne, which found an audience despite being produced under difficult conditions following his split from Rohff.

Kamelancien's style sits within classic French street rap, built on direct, often confrontational lyricism and stories drawn from his upbringing in the Paris suburbs. Tracks like «Sans toi» and «Un mec bien» reveal a more introspective, melodic side that broadened his appeal, while songs such as «Hakim» and «L'Union Fait La Force» reflect his ties within the wider scene.
