Juvenile

Juvenile, born Terius Gray, is a rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana, who became one of the defining voices of the city's bounce-influenced hip-hop sound in the late 1990s. He rose to national prominence as a member of the Hot Boys, the Cash Money Records group he was part of alongside labelmates from 1997 into the early 2000s, before establishing himself as a major solo star.

His 1998 album «400 Degreez» became a landmark of Southern rap, anchored by the massive single «Back That Azz Up», which helped push bounce-inflected New Orleans hip-hop into the mainstream. He followed with further hits like «Ha» and «Slow Motion», the latter becoming one of his biggest crossover successes years later. His delivery, thick with New Orleans slang and cadence, became instantly recognizable and influential on subsequent generations of Southern rappers.

Beyond his Cash Money years, Juvenile continued releasing music independently and through other imprints, remaining associated with the UTP collective, and has also worked as an actor. His catalog remains foundational to the New Orleans rap sound and to bounce music's national breakthrough.
