Joe Flizzow

Joe Flizzow, born Mohd Firdaus Rahmat, is a Malaysian rapper widely regarded as one of the pioneers and most influential figures of hip hop in Malaysia. He rose to prominence as a member of the group Too Phat before establishing a major solo career and founding the label Kartel Records, through which he has championed and mentored a new generation of Malaysian rap and hip hop artists.

His music blends rap with pop and R&B sensibilities, often incorporating Malay-language lyrics alongside English, and frequently touches on national identity, patriotism and social commentary — evident in tracks like «Negaraku» and «Sang Saka Biru». Songs such as «Havoc», «Kongsi», «Apa Khabar», «Evo» and «CIAO» showcase his range across hard-hitting street anthems, collaborative posse cuts and more melodic, radio-friendly records.

Beyond his own catalogue, Joe Flizzow has played a central role in building the infrastructure of Malaysian hip hop, collaborating extensively with other regional artists and helping push the genre into the mainstream across Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
