Jim Jones

Jim Jones, born Joseph Guillermo Jones II in the Bronx, New York, is an American rapper and record executive best known as a founding member of the Diplomats (Dipset), the influential Harlem hip-hop crew formed alongside Cam’ron and Juelz Santana in the early 2000s. His gritty delivery and street-focused storytelling helped define the group’s sound and its impact on New York rap.

As a solo artist, Jones broke through commercially with «We Fly High», a massive hip-hop and pop crossover hit, and continued his run with tracks like «Pop Champagne». His album «Hustler’s P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment)» remains a key release in his catalog, and he has continued releasing music for decades, including his more recent project «At the Church Steps».

Beyond his own recordings, Jones has been a central figure in Dipset’s legacy and the broader Harlem rap scene, known for his ear for hooks, his ability to generate viral hits, and his longevity as both a performer and a figure in hip-hop’s business side.
