JELEEL!

JELEEL! is an American rapper and singer from Rhode Island, born Abdul Jeleel Yussuf in 1995. He began making music in the mid-2010s after initially pursuing basketball, and eventually relocated to Los Angeles to focus fully on his artistic career. His sound blends rap, pop, R&B and electronic elements into a chaotic, high-energy style, drawing on influences as varied as Kid Cudi, DMX, Sum 41 and Buju Banton.

JELEEL! built much of his early audience through TikTok, where his over-the-top delivery and imposing physique made him a viral figure; the platform played a major role in popularizing his breakout track «DIVE IN!». His catalogue is marked by exclamation-point song titles and an unpredictable, genre-hopping approach, heard on songs like «JULY!», «BANANA!» and «SHOTS!».

He released his debut project, Angel From Heaven, in 2019, followed by Generation Z in 2020, cementing his identity as one of the more eccentric and internet-native voices to emerge from the SoundCloud-adjacent rap scene of the late 2010s.
