Jah Khalib

Jah Khalib, born Bakhtiyar Mamedov in Almaty, Kazakhstan, is a beatmaker, producer and rap artist who became one of the most popular figures in Russian-language urban music through a distinctive, self-produced sound. Trained musically from childhood — he studied saxophone and later musicology and management at a Kazakh conservatory — he brings a strong sense of melody and arrangement to his tracks, often producing and composing his own beats rather than relying on outside producers.

His breakthrough came in 2013 with the single «Все, что мы любим, секс, наркотики», which spread widely through social media and helped him build an audience across the CIS beyond Kazakhstan. His music blends rap, R&B and pop sensibilities, often centered on romantic and sensual themes, with tracks like «Медина», «Лейла», «Мамасита» and «Доча» showcasing his smooth, melodic flow and lush, atmospheric production.

Over a prolific catalog including releases like Dushi, Джазовый Грув, Всё что мы любим, E.G.O, 911 and Desert Eagle, Jah Khalib has built a reputation for a consistent artistic identity — sultry, melodic and cinematic — that helped popularize a more introspective, R&B-leaning strand of Russian-language rap.
