About the artist
Jade Bird is an English singer-songwriter from South Wales whose music blends country, folk and rock into a modern take on Americana, powered by a raw, powerful voice that has drawn comparisons to Loretta Lynn and Patti Smith. Raised in a military family that moved often, she settled with her mother and grandmother in South Wales, picked up the guitar as a preteen, and moved to London in her mid-teens to pursue songwriting seriously.
She broke through with her 2017 debut EP «Something American», whose title track showcased her ability to fuse confessional lyrics with big, anthemic hooks. Her self-titled debut album followed in 2019, featuring songs like «Uh Huh», «Lottery» and «I Get No Joy», earning acclaim for its emotional honesty and genre-blending production that sat comfortably alongside both country and indie-rock audiences.
Jade Bird has continued to develop her sound across subsequent releases, including songs such as «What Am I Here For» and «Cathedral», maintaining her signature mix of stripped-down acoustic intimacy and full-throated rock energy. Her work has made her one of the notable voices bridging British songwriting traditions with American roots music.
