Ice Spice

Ice Spice, born Isis Naija Gaston on January 1, 2000, is a rapper from the Bronx, New York City, who emerged as one of the defining voices of the 2020s drill scene. She began rapping in 2021, citing influences such as Saweetie, Cardi B, Doja Cat and Pop Smoke, and developed a signature style built around confident, playful lyrics delivered over the drill-influenced production of her longtime collaborator, producer Riot.

Her breakthrough came with the August 2022 single «Munch (Feelin’ U)», which went viral online and drew a co-sign from Drake, quickly followed by «In Ha Mood», which entered the Billboard Hot 100. That run of momentum led to a major label deal reportedly worth around $2 million with 10K Projects, and to her debut EP Like…?, released in January 2023.

Ice Spice’s sound sits at the crossroads of drill, hip-hop and pop, and she has since become known for high-profile crossover collaborations, including a feature on PinkPantheress’s «Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2». With her distinctive Bronx drill flow and rapid rise from internet virality to mainstream pop culture presence, she has become one of the most recognizable new names in contemporary hip-hop.
