Hot Boys

The Hot Boys were an American hip hop group formed in New Orleans in the mid-1990s under Cash Money Records, bringing together Turk, Juvenile, B.G. and a teenage Lil Wayne. Working almost exclusively with in-house producer Mannie Fresh, the group fused the bounce sound of New Orleans with hard-edged gangsta rap, giving Cash Money a signature style that helped the label grow from a regional outfit into a national force.

Their best-known singles, including «I Need A Hot Girl» and «We on Fire», showcased the group's rapid-fire chemistry and youthful bravado, with Wayne being just a young teenager on their debut. Tracks like «Tuesday & Thursday» and «Too Hot» further cemented their reputation for high-energy street anthems built on Mannie Fresh's bouncy, bass-heavy production.

Beyond their chart success, the Hot Boys are credited with popularizing slang that entered mainstream vocabulary, most notably the phrase bling bling. Although the group only recorded a few projects together before its members pursued solo careers, their influence on Southern hip hop and on Cash Money's rise remains significant.
