About the artist

Horus, born Alexey Spiridonov on May 23, 1983, is a Russian rap artist from Cheboksary who previously performed under the name Dan Lupercal. After completing a trilogy of releases as Rospechal, he adopted the new alias Horus and shifted away from overtly social commentary toward a more introspective, emotionally raw style of songwriting.

His debut album under the new name, Дом тысячи сквозняков (House of a Thousand Draughts), arrived in 2015, followed in 2018 by Прометей роняет факел (Prometheus Drops the Torch). Horus himself has described the two albums as forming a conceptual duology exploring themes he summarized as Thanatos and Eros. In 2019 he released two more projects: a joint EP with fellow artist Зараза (Baланс чёрного) and the solo mixtape Рифмономикон, largely compiling singles from prior years.

In 2020 Horus and Зараза reunited for another collaborative release, Вопрос времени, featuring additional artists including ATL, RIPBEAT and MURDA KILLA. His music blends rap with rock and electronic textures, and he is known within Russian-language rap for lyrically dense, atmospheric songwriting that favors personal reflection over straightforward narrative, setting him apart from more conventional strands of the genre.
