Hornet La Frappe

Hornet La Frappe, born Mounir Ben Chettouh on December 5, 1991 in Épinay-sur-Seine, is a French rapper from the Seine-Saint-Denis department near Paris. He emerged from the gritty, street-rooted wing of French rap, building his early reputation through mixtapes and close collaboration with producer and rapper Busta Flex, who shaped much of his early sound and appeared as his main featured guest. His debut project, Réussir ou Mounir, arrived in 2014, followed by the Busta Flex-produced mixtape OKLM in 2015.

His breakthrough came with the single «Gramme 2 Peuf» in 2016, a track that spread widely and became certified platinum, introducing him to a much broader rap audience. He followed this with the mixtape Nous-mêmes in 2017, released through Rec. 118, a label under Warner Music France, featuring guest spots from Kalash Criminel and Sofiane and eventually achieving platinum certification itself.

Hornet La Frappe went on to release his debut studio album Dans les yeux in 2018, later certified platinum, and a second album, Ma ruche, in 2020, which received a reissue the same year. His music blends raw street narratives with melodic hooks, situating him among the commercially successful yet street-credible voices of contemporary French rap.
