Hit-Boy

Hit-Boy, born Chauncey Hollis Jr., is an American record producer and rapper from California who became one of the most influential hip-hop producers of the 2010s and 2020s. He first broke through with the massive hit «Niggas in Paris» for Jay-Z and Kanye West, a track that helped define the maximalist, bass-heavy sound of that era, and he went on to produce for artists across the spectrum, including A$AP Rocky's «Goldie» and Kanye West's «Clique».

As a rapper in his own right, Hit-Boy signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music imprint in 2012, releasing his debut single «Jay-Z Interview» and the mixtape HITstory, which featured collaborations with Big Sean and Kid Cudi. While his solo rap career stayed lower-profile than his production work, it showcased the same sharp ear for hooks and rhythm that made him sought after behind the boards.

Over the following decade Hit-Boy expanded into a full-fledged hitmaker and label executive, working with a wide range of mainstream rap and R&B artists and later becoming known for extensive collaborative projects with veteran rappers, cementing his place as one of the genre's most versatile and prolific producers.
