Hatik

Hatik, born Clément Penhoat on 26 November 1992 in Chevreuse, is a French rapper of Guyanese descent who grew up in the Garennes neighbourhood of Guyancourt in the Yvelines department. He began making music as a teenager and spent years working odd jobs while developing his craft in relative obscurity before releasing his first project, America 2 — Connaissance et style, in 2014.

His breakthrough came with the nine-part Chaise pliante series released at the end of 2018, a freestyle-driven format that showcased his fluid flow and confessional lyricism and established him as one of the notable new voices in French rap. He followed this with the Projet Berlin collaboration with Daymolition in February 2019, recording five tracks with producers Medeline and Ogee Handz over five days in the German capital, each paired with a video shot the same day.

Hatik built his reputation on melodic, emotionally direct rap that blends street narrative with pop sensibility, later scoring mainstream hits such as «Angela» and «Prison pour mineurs». His songs «La meilleure», «Adieu, mon amour» and «FLK (Fais les kiffer)» further cemented his presence in the French urban music scene, balancing introspective songwriting with radio-friendly hooks.
