About the artist
Guapdad 4000, born Akeem Douglas Hayes on July 26, 1992, is an American rapper and singer from Oakland, California. He rose to prominence as one of the central figures in the “scam rap” movement, a subgenre built around narratives of hustling and financial schemes, and he is credited with popularizing the slang term “finnam.” His breakout project was the mixtape Scamboy Color, released in December 2017, which established the persona and thematic focus that would define much of his early catalog.
Guapdad 4000 gained wider recognition in 2019 through his prominent role on Dreamville’s compilation album Revenge of the Dreamers III, appearing on some of its most acclaimed tracks. That same year he released his debut studio album, Dior Deposits, which featured collaborations with Chance the Rapper, 6LACK, Tory Lanez, and other notable artists, blending rap, R&B, and pop sensibilities with his signature scam-themed storytelling.
In 2020 he continued building his catalog with two EPs, Platinum Falcon Tape, Vol. 1, and its follow-up, Platinum Falcon Returns. In 2021, he released 1176, a full-length collaborative album with producer !llmind, further cementing his reputation for sharp wordplay and charismatic delivery across a genre-blending sound.
