GRIP

GRIP, born Kyle Clow, is a rapper from Decatur, Georgia, part of the Atlanta hip-hop scene, who gained wider recognition after being signed to Eminem's Shady Records. His music combines dense, technically sharp writing with raw, often confessional storytelling, drawing on a hard upbringing and drug-related struggles that shaped his early life. His sound sits at the intersection of traditional lyricism and Southern rap, influenced by artists like T.I. and André 3000.

GRIP first drew attention with his 2017 concept album «Porch», which explored coming-of-age themes tied to the porch as both literal and symbolic setting. His follow-up, «Snubnose» (2019), marked a significant leap in his career, earning critical acclaim and being ranked among the best hip-hop albums of that year by outlets like Rolling Stone.

Signing to Shady Records placed GRIP alongside a roster known for lyrically driven artists, and his subsequent releases continued to emphasize introspective, hard-hitting content over commercial rap trends.
