Gorilla Zoe

Gorilla Zoe, born Alonzo Mathis, is an American rapper who rose to prominence in the mid-2000s as a member of the Atlanta trap/crunk collective Boyz N Da Hood alongside artists like Young Jeezy and Big Boi affiliates. His gruff, energetic delivery and street-rooted subject matter made him a distinctive voice in the Southern hip-hop scene that was dominating mainstream rap radio at the time.

He launched his solo career with the 2007 debut album «Welcome to the Zoo», which spawned the hit single «Hood Nigga» and established his signature sound of hard-hitting trap production paired with hooky, chant-like choruses. He followed up with «Don't Feed Da Animals» in 2009 and «King Kong» in 2011, continuing to build a catalog rooted in Atlanta's crunk and trap traditions.
