GoldLink

GoldLink, born D'Anthony Carlos, is a rapper and singer from the Washington, DC area who emerged in the mid-2010s as one of the leading voices of the DMV's new-wave hip-hop scene. He built a following through SoundCloud and his debut mixtape «The God Complex», praised for its confessional, biographical songwriting, before affiliating with the Soulection collective for his follow-up project «And After That, We Didn't Talk».

GoldLink is closely associated with a sound he has described as future bounce, blending rap with R&B and house/electronic rhythms, giving his music a danceable, genre-blurring quality distinct from more traditional East Coast or Southern rap. His breakout single «Crew», featuring Brent Faiyaz and Shy Glizzy, brought him mainstream visibility and helped push the mixtape «At What Cost» (2017), a project widely seen as a love letter to DC's go-go-influenced music culture.

His 2019 debut album «Diaspora» expanded his palette further, drawing on Afrobeats, dancehall and pan-African influences and featuring a wide range of collaborators. Across his catalog, songs like «Herside Story», «Spectrum» and «U Say» showcase his melodic flow and genre fluidity, cementing his place as an artist who helped bring DC's regional sound to a national audience.
