Georgio

Georgio, born Georges Édouard Nicolo, is a French rapper from the 18th arrondissement of Paris. He began releasing EPs in the early 2010s before his debut album Bleu Noir arrived in 2015, notable for being partly financed by his own audience through crowdfunding. His breakthrough came with the album Héra, later reissued in an expanded edition, which went on to achieve platinum certification in France.

Georgio's style blends introspective, often melancholic songwriting with a distinctive flow that sets him apart from more mainstream French rap. His lyrics frequently explore personal struggles, identity, and social observation, delivered over atmospheric, carefully crafted production. Tracks like «Brûle» and «L'espoir meurt en dernier» showcase this reflective, sometimes dark lyrical tone paired with melodic hooks.

Over the following years he continued to build a steady discography, including the album XX5 and, after a longer gap, Sacré, which was followed by a companion release. Across his catalogue Georgio has remained a respected figure in French rap for his consistency and willingness to experiment within the genre's more emotional register.
